KUWAIT CITY, Jan 25: An Egyptian in his mid-20s was killed by mistake while he was cleaning a concrete mixer. A Pakistani colleague is said to have switched on the mixer not knowing the victim was inside there, and killed him instantly.

Capital Security Chief Major General Ibrahim Al-Tarrah went to the scene with other security officers after the Operations Room of the Interior Ministry received information about the incident. The remains were removed from the mixer and deposited to Forensics. A case was registered.

Meanwhile, two people were injured when gas cylinder exploded at the kitchen of a house in Ardiya area. Sources said the Fire Operations Room was notified about the incident, and a team of firemen with security operatives and paramedics rushed to the scene and dealt with the situation. Initial investigation revealed the explosion was caused by leakage in gas cylinder.

General Service Department appeals to citizens and expatriates to ensure that valves on their gas cylinders are properly fixed to avoid leakage and imminent explosion, especially as three similar incidents have been recorded in the last two days. Also, firemen extinguished a fire in a house at Jleeb Shuyoukh area which served as sponge and wood storage. No casualty was registered
