Egyptian arrested for abusive video

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 24: The Cyber Crime Department continues to investigate an Egyptian who is said to have posted an abusive video in the social media, reports Al-Rai daily.

A security source told the daily personnel from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) identified the man and took him into custody. Police discovered in the video an elderly man is heard cursing the country but in the background one of the streets can be seen.

Police also discovered the sound recording was done in Egypt but it was posted in the social media from Kuwait. And the security source said investigations are continuing to find out who is the target of the clip, who published the clip and who did the recording.

Meanwhile, the Al-Anba daily said the man is in his 40s and is expected to be expelled from the country. The daily also said, the Egyptian told the security authorities the abuse is not directed at Kuwait. He added, someone photographed him listening to the clip and posted it in the social media.
