Drugs smuggled in imported fish

KUWAIT CITY, June 1: The Ministry of Interior announced Tuesday, that the Criminal Security Sector represented by the General Department of Narcotics Control managed to arrest a resident of Arab nationality after bringing 16 kilos of methamphetamine otherwise known as ‘shabu’ into the country via air freight. The General Administration of Security Relations and Information at the ministry stated in a press release that information received by the competent authorities about the accused bringing and smuggling an amount of narcotic substances into the country in a shipment of imported fish via air freight for the purpose of trafficking.

She added that after intensifying investigations and verifying the accuracy of the information, a legal permit was issued and he was arrested in the fish market in the Sharq region, in possession of narcotics. It indicated that by confronting the accused, he confessed to bringing narcotics in this way, as he and the seized items were referred to the competent authorities to take legal action against him.
