KUWAIT CITY, Dec 1: At the request of the Ministry of Public Works (MPW), the Central Agency for Public Tenders (CAPT) announced the launch of a project for the construction, completion, and maintenance of Phase 3 for the parking lots and aircraft runways and service buildings at the new passenger terminal at Kuwait International Airport, Building 2.
CAPT has set Dec 13 for the preliminary meeting and 29 of the same month as the last date submitting tenders. According to a report issued by the Ministry of Public Works, the project is located between the eastern and western runways and extends from the new passenger building 2 on an area of 1.300 million square meters and consists of aircraft parking and runway linked to the existing runways of Terminal 2, air services and service tunnels associated with the main building in addition to a power plant.
The report stated the project includes service buildings that contain waste management facilities, facilities for storing goods, facilities for the Ministry of Interior, Customs Control, an area for lost luggage, an underground water tank and passenger escalators.
It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Public Works had started work on the second phase of a car parking building as part of the ministry’s work on the new passenger building project at Kuwait International Airport (T2) in August 2020, and within the airport work plan, the three phases are to be completed simultaneously.
