KUWAIT CITY, Oct 24: Kuwait Authority for Anti-Corruption (Nazaha), in coordination with the concerned committee in the Council of Ministers, will make amendments to the Penal Code to criminalize bribery in the private sector, reports Al-Qabas daily quoting sources. Sources revealed that the most important amendments include the legal criminal responsibility of persons involved in corruption cases in the private sector, and criminalization of bribery in this sector. In another context, Nazaha called on those covered by the request to submit financial disclosure statements before reaching the legal period, in order to avoid problems including dismissal from the job.

Sources stated that Nazaha addressed the government agencies on the need to expedite submission of the financial disclosure, in compliance with the executive regulations of the authority. Sources affirmed the percentage of filing financial disclosure is high as procedures returned to normal after the resumption of work and overcoming the Corona crisis. Sources disclosed that Nazaha received 26,487 statements as of September.
