Court releases fashionista Al-Najada on KD 2,000 bail

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 26: The Public Prosecution has released fashionista Jamal Al-Najada on bail of KD 2,000. She was accused of insulting the judicial authority in an audio clip.

Al-Najada denied the accusation against her, insisting that she did not intend to offend the judicial authority. She explained that one of her followers contacted her via SnapChat app and a conversation ensued between them about the money laundering case for which the Public Prosecution had investigated and released her.

She did not know that the caller was recording the conversation and was later surprised to realize that the conversation was circulating so widely. Al-Najada apologized to the prosecution for what she had said, stressing that she could not offend the public prosecution apparatus and its members “for what I saw of respectable and elegant dealings.”
