Court lays down legal principle regarding hiring of graduates

KUWAIT CITY, May 9: At a time of intensifying talks on not accepting graduates for many jobs because of the interview criterion and in light of a parliamentary proposal in this regard; the Court of Appeals laid down a legal principle stating that interview alone without other standards is unacceptable, because it is tantamount to disregarding the scientific criteria for applicants, reports Al- Qabas daily.

The court has cancelled the decision of the Civil Service Commission (CSC) to reject the application of two citizens and obliged the latter to appoint these citizens as employment affairs supervisors. Attorney Mohamad Al-Ansari, lawyer for the plaintiffs, affirmed that the court upheld the rights of his clients after the CSC disregarded the scientific criteria in accepting applicants with higher scientific qualifications.
