‘Communications’ mulls increasing value of rent

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 10: The official spokesperson and director of the technical office of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Communications Abeer Al-Shuraida announced that the Ministry of Communications has formed a committee to review the ministerial decisions regarding increasing the rent of the ministry’s property.

Al-Shuraida clarified in a press statement the committee’s task will be to discuss the mechanism of the ministry’s contract with companies for the space rented and complaints submitted by some companies about the rise in rents. This is in addition to reviewing the Ministerial Decisions (77), (78) and (79) of 2018.

Al-Shuraida explained Ministerial Resolution No. (77) of 2018, is related to the rental value of the communications complex building, which is 250 dinars per month for the first square meter, and 20 dinars are added to it for each additional square meter.

She added that Ministerial Resolution No. (78) is concerning the rental value of the spaces used in Liberation Tower, and the monthly value is 250 dinars for the first square meter, and 20 dinars are added to it for each additional square meter, provided that the minimum area is four square meters.

Al-Shuraida added that Ministerial Resolution No. (79) is concerning the rental value of the spaces in the Ministry’s building and the lands affiliated to it, so that the value is as follows: 200 dinars for the first square meter, and 20 dinars added to it for each additional square meter for the spaces used for devices, 200 dinars for the first meter a square meter and an additional 15 dinars per square meter for the spaces in the government buildings mall is added to it, 100 dinars for the first square meter, and 30 dinars added to it for each additional square meter for the spaces used in Ministry’s buildings.
