Civil Aviation ‘prepares’ for influx of passengers – MoI suspends works

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 27, (KUNA): Kuwait’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is ready to deal with legions of holidaymakers over the New Year’s holiday, Director General Yousef Al- Fouzan said on Wednesday. Al-Fouzan told KUNA that heavy traffic is also expected at Kuwait’s International Airport during the four-day New Year’s holiday, which starts on Thursday and runs until Monday, with a total of 1,633 commercial flights.

Meanwhile, he revealed that around 110,664 travelers are set to depart the country, while 95,797 others will be arriving during the holiday period.

Al-Fouzan pointed out that DGCA staff are currently carrying out renovation work at the airport to ensure convenient travel for all passengers. He also urged all travelers to cooperate with authorities for a hassle-free journey.

Meanwhile, the Public Relations and Security Media General Department in the Interior Ministry announced suspension of work in service centers on Sunday on the occasion of New Year, reports Al- Anba daily.
