Cybersecurity department monitors all social media and websites

KUWAIT CITY, May 12: Ministry of Interior’s Cyber crime department has been battling to reduce rumors and publishing of fake news published on websites and social media under the exceptional circumstances the country is going through in its fight against Corona virus, which affects the functioning of state institutions, and harms citizens and residents.

The criminal security department managed to apprehend 9 news websites that published and promoted fake news and rumors, cases were registered against those who handled the website.

The Department of Cyber ​​Crime monitors all that is published on social media and keeps an eye on everyone who tries to promote rumors, it takes legal measures against them in coordination with the Ministry of Information and the competent authorities.

The administration calls upon everyone to be cautious and alert to what is mentioned on social media and reminds the readers to visit official news websites approved by the government for reliable source.
