KUWAIT CITY, Aug 6: The Central Agency for Public Tenders (CAPT) is discussing a tender for the supply and installation of 200,000 smart electricity meters. It urged the Ministry of Electricity and Water to discuss this tender and decide on the recommendation it submitted to CAPT a while ago, reports Al-Rai daily quoting reliable sources.

They explained that CAPT listed the tender with others scheduled for discussion. The Ministry of Electricity and Water had insisted on the need to discuss this tender and decide on the recommendation submitted by the lowest bidders.

Before the Eid Al-Adha holidays, the technical team had met with representatives of the Ministry of Electricity and Water to review the offers submitted by the lowest bidders, after the agency had previously asked the ministry to re-examine the first, second and third offers of the lowest bidders and allow them to complete the existing shortcomings.

The sources said, “During the meeting, the CAPT team highlighted a number of points that the lowest bidder failed to meet, despite the latter’s pledge to complete them if the agency agreed to award the tender to him. If the agency refused to award the tender as soon as possible to this lowest bidder, the ministry would study the offer submitted by the second lowest bidder in this regard”.
