Cabinet lauds Amiri Diwan for a successful fireworks celebration – Event sparked joyous emotions across Kuwait

KUWAIT CITY, March 7, (KUNA): The Cabinet held its weekly session Monday, presided over by His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah. At the onset of the session, the Cabinet viewed a letter sent to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, by Egyptian President Abdelfatah el- Sisi, one that solidified long-standing ties between Kuwait and Egypt. As part of an international wave of praise for His Highness the Amir, the Cabinet viewed a series of letters sent to His Highness the Amir.

The letters came from UK Prime Minister David Cameron, United Nations (UN) Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, Director General of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) William Lacy Swing and United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Director General Irina Bokova.

The letters expressed deepest gratitude for His Highness the Amir’s support of humanitarian causes and Kuwait’s hosting of donors’ conferences for Syria. Moreover, the Cabinet extolled efforts exerted by the Amiri Diwan for putting together a successful fireworks celebration on Saturday, marking Kuwait’s 55th Independence Day, 25th anniversary of Liberation Day and the 10th anniversary of His Highness the Amir’s assumption of power. The Cabinet also thanked security forces for maintaining order in an event that sparked joyous emotions across the nation. The Cabinet also discussed current Arab and international political developments.
