Players challenge for the ball during a league match between Kuwait Club and Yarmouk.

AMMAN, Feb 21: Burgan volleyball team suffered its second consecutive defeat in the ongoing 42nd Arab Club Championship held in Amman, Jordan as it Burgan succumbed to Dar Kulaib of Bahrain in the second group, (25-18, 22-25, 25-17, 25-23). Earlier, Kazma, the second Kuwaiti representative, experienced a similar outcome against Qatar, while Libyan Al-Suwaihli secured a 3-0 victory over Iraqi Al-Shamal Club. In the same vein, Libyan Al-Ahly Benghazi triumphed over Jordanian Shabab Al-Hussein with a 3-0 score.

Moving into the third round of the preliminary stage today, Kazma competes in the first group against Bahrain's Al-Ahly Benghazi, Qatar faces off with Al-Seeb of Oman, and Shabab Al-Hussein contends with Shabab Ayra of Jordan. In the second group, Dar Kulaib meets Masafi Al-Shamal, Burgan clashes with Al-Suwaihli of Libya, and Shabab Ayra of Jordan competes against Al-Shorta of Qatar.

Additionally, the Volleyball League's postponed matches feature Yarmouk meeting Al-Qadisiya at 5:15 pm followed by  Kuwait Club  playing against Al-Sulaibikhat at 7:15 pm.Recent league matches witnessed Kuwait Club  victory over Yarmouk (3-1) and Al-Qadisiya's triumph over Al-Shabab (3-0). As a result, the league standings before today's matches are as follows: Kuwait Club and Al-Qadisiya leading with 37 points, Al-Arabi and Burgan with 35 points, Kazma with 34 points, Al-Shabab with 27 points, Yarmouk with 17 points, Al-Tadamon with 15 points, and Sulaibikhat and Al-Sahel with three points each.
