Gulf Cables edge Libyan Union 2-1 KUWAIT CITY, June 12: The 39th Late Abdullah Meshari Al-Rawdhan Futsal Tournament will come to an end on Wednesday with the final matches for both senior and junior categories to be held on the ground of Kuwait Handball Association in Dai’ya area. Kuwait Steel, Just Clean, Boubyan Bank and Gulf Cables have reached the semis after winning the qualifying matches on Tuesday. Boubyan Bank reached the finals after defeating Holiday Inn by 2-1 on the 26th day of the tournament. The goals were scored by the Argentinean player Kiki. On the other hand, Holiday Inn faced troubles in controlling the match but managed to get one goal that was scored by the Paraguayan player Gege. Gulf Cables defeated Libyan Union by 2-1. The goals of Gulf Cables were scored by Meshari Al-Nekas and Brazilian player Vambita, while the goal of the Libyan Union was scored by Ali Mesbah. Libyan Union Team left the tournament honorably after displaying attractive performance throughout the tournament. The 8th tournament for juniors’ category has reached the final stage. The final match will be held on Wednesday between the teams of Late Sheikh Khalid Al-Yousef Al-Sabah and Kuwait Club, on the sideline of the match of seniors’ category. The final match is expected to be full of excitement due to the determination of both teams to win especially with exceptionally talented players in the two teams. Players in the Late Sheikh Khalid Al-Yousef Al-Sabah team include Ali Dashti, Jassem Saleh, Abdullah Muhammad, Ahmed Muhammad, Abdullah Khalid, Yousef Jamal, Hamza Ziyad, Sheikh Mohammad Yusuf, Khalid Walid and Bader Salem. Players in the Kuwait Club team include Mohammad Al-Halwaji, Hussain Abdulmohsen, Yusuf Yaqoub, Sa’ad Naif, Yusuf Saoud, Muhammad Yasser, Fawaz Hamad, Talal Abdulaziz, Abdulwahab Dari and Shaheen Al-Khaldi. Argentinean player Kiki who plays as professional member of the Italian Team Pisara expressed his happiness in participating in the tournament as a player of the Boubyan Bank team. He praised the high level of organization of the tournament as well as high performance level of the Kuwaiti and international players who participated in the tournament. An Iraqi player of Boubyan Bank team won the award for the best player in the match against Holiday Inn. The organizing committee had allocated 150 prizes for the participants of the competition held on the sidelines of the match. It involved kicking the ball and making it hit the goal post or the side posts. Despite 26 attempts in total, none of the participants managed to kick the ball towards either the goal post or any of the side posts.
