KUWAIT CITY, Nov 21: The American University of the Middle East (AUM) served as a primary sponsor for the sixth children's science exhibition organized by the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research.

The event took place at the Capital Mall over three days from November 16 to 18. The exhibition, an annual initiative, is designed to captivate and engage children aged 6 to 12, a crucial stage for shaping scientific interests and fostering a passion for knowledge. This year, over 2,000 children, including students from various Kuwaiti schools, participated in 21 sets of simplified scientific experiments facilitated by 37 researchers and technicians from the institute, reports Al-Rai daily.

AUM, recognizing its responsibility to cultivate youth skills in science and technology, showcased an interactive pavilion featuring engaging experiments during its participation in the exhibition. The activities aimed to combine science and fun, encouraging children to participate actively.

The interactive experiments included a flight simulator experience, the use of microscopes with screens to explore the dynamic world of colorful bacteria, and the creation of distinctive shapes and designs reflecting children's creative imagination.

These experiences not only fostered interaction and enthusiasm but also provided an opportunity for children to develop and strengthen their minds, acquire scientific research and discovery skills, and become more socially aware, promoting a sustainable lifestyle.

AUM's commitment to developing students' skills is evident in its annual campus exhibition, where various groups from the faculties of engineering and technology showcase their notable projects and creativity. This exhibition reflects the knowledge, competence, and special artistic skills acquired during their academic journey, aligning with the university's vision to empower young minds, provide scientific knowledge, build personalities, and develop technical skills.

AUM's campus features engineering innovation centers that enhance academic knowledge with global expertise. These centers include the Robotics Center, the Artificial Intelligence Center, a Center for Graduation Projects dedicated to students of the College of Engineering and Technology, and a nanotechnology laboratory. Additionally, the College of Engineering and Technology houses six distinct clubs, namely the Robotics Club, Artificial Minds Club, Future Builders Club, Green Energy Club, Instrument Master Club, and Inventors Club. Each center and club plays a pivotal role in fostering a culture of innovation and cooperation among students.
