Asian arrested with 12 bags of chewing tobacco at Kuwait Airport

KUWAIT CITY, April 6: Customs officials at the airport prevented 12 bags containing chewing tobacco (Pan Masala) products, which are prohibited from being imported into the country. The Director of the Airports Department, Mr. Osama Al-Shami, reported that during an inspection using modern devices a customs inspector grew suspicious of the bags which belonged to a passenger of Asian nationality. Upon inspection, the bags were found to contain the prohibited chewing tobacco products (Pan Masala).

As a result, the passenger along with the smuggling products were referred to legal authorities. The Director General of Customs, Mr. Sulaiman Al-Fahd, confirmed that appropriate legal measures would be taken against anyone who violates the law, including those involved in drug smuggling, customs smuggling, or tax evasion.
