KUWAIT CITY, Aug 1: Airport customs recently arrested three passengers at the T1 and T5 terminals of Kuwait International Airport in possession of illicit substances.
In a press release, a member of Customs Media Committee Nawaf Al-Matar explained that a customs officer at T1 terminal of Kuwait International Airport suspected an Arab passenger who arrived from his country.
He manually checked the suspect’s luggage and found hashish. Also, an Arab passenger who arrived from a neighboring country was arrested at T5 terminal of the airport after an inspection of his luggage revealed the presence of 1,500 narcotic pills.
In addition, an Asian expatriate who arrived from his country was arrested in possession of hashish pieces. All suspects were referred with the confiscated illicit substances to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action.
Head of Airport Customs Department Mutlaq Al-Enezi appreciated the efforts exerted by customs officers to block attempts to smuggle banned items into the country.
