Arrest of 3 Gulf National Brothers for Liquor Peddling and Weapon Possession

KUWAIT CITY, June 29: In a significant operation, the Criminal Security Sector successfully apprehended three Gulf nationals who were found in possession of a substantial quantity of alcohol, illicit substances, firearms, and ammunition, with the intent to engage in trafficking and abuse.

The Public Relations Department confirmed that extensive investigations were conducted, gathering vital information and closely monitoring the suspects’ activities. With the necessary permission from the Public Prosecution, the individuals were ultimately apprehended in the Salmiya area. Further searches conducted at their residence in Sulaibiya revealed a significant stash of alcoholic beverages, psychotropic substances, as well as a Kalashnikov firearm, ammunition, and another type of firearm. Additionally, a significant amount of money in both local and foreign currencies was also seized.

Upon confrontation with the evidence, the individuals admitted their ownership of the seized items, acknowledging their intention to engage in trafficking and abuse. The firearms, which they claimed were for self-defense purposes, were also confiscated.

The individuals have been transferred to the General Department for Drug Control, where appropriate legal measures will be taken against them in accordance with the law.
