Arab Elite Championship returns to Qatar

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 12: The announcement of the upcoming third Arab Elite Championship was made by Sheikh Ahmed Al-Jaber, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arab Tennis Federation. The tournament is scheduled to take place in the Qatari capital, Doha, from December 23 to 28. Notably, the event is sponsored by Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait and KGL, with the participation of top Arab players.

Sheikh Al-Jaber disclosed that the Qatari Tennis Federation has granted approval for Doha to host the third edition, with matches set to be held at the Khalifa International Tennis Complex. Emphasizing the continued organization of the tournament, he cited the substantial successes and accomplishments of the first two editions hosted by Kuwait at the Sheikh Jaber Al-Abdullah Complex in 2021 and 2022.

Expressing anticipation for another chapter of success and creativity in Doha, Sheikh Al-Jaber acknowledged the city as a sports hub and a favored destination for athletes globally. He extended gratitude to Nasser Al-Khelaifi, the President of the Qatar Tennis Federation, for his warm welcome and approval to host the tournament, commending Qatar’s outstanding track record in organizing major sporting events.

The President of the Arab Federation lauded the pivotal role played by the Qatari Federation in promoting and advancing tennis in both Qatar and the broader region. He highlighted Doha’s reputation for hosting major tennis tournaments featuring some of the sport’s brightest stars.

Sheikh Al-Jaber underscored Qatar’s extensive experience in hosting international tournaments, noting the country’s commitment to delivering top-tier organization, services, and facilities for athletes. He expressed confidence that this commitment would positively impact the Third Arab Elite Tennis Championship.

Acknowledging the continuous support of Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait and KGL, the main sponsors for the third consecutive year, Sheikh Al-Jaber extended appreciation to national federations for their collaborative efforts in enhancing Arab tennis.
