KUWAIT CITY, May 7: Players from the Kuwaiti Al Tomooh Sports Club and students from the Global Bilingual Academy, in collaboration with Special Olympics Kuwait, participated in a dynamic sports day held at the academy’s facilities in Mahboula.
The event featured a variety of activities, including football, basketball, badminton, and table tennis matches, alongside several recreational and social events.
The sports day was attended by Special Olympics Kuwait's National Director, Rehab Bouresli; the Secretary-General of the Al Tomooh Club, Sadika Al-Ansari; and the Academy’s Vice Principal for Intermediate and Secondary Schools, Amani Al-Daraisa.
Rehab Bouresli expressed her delight at the spirit of camaraderie and cooperation displayed during the event, highlighting the positive impact of allowing the club's players to interact and compete across various sports. She emphasized the significance of the competitive matches, which included games between the club and academy players, as well as inclusive matches between mixed teams of players with disabilities and their non-disabled peers. These activities were part of the Unified Champions Schools program, which promotes educational integration through sports, laying the foundation for inclusive and holistic school communities.
