Airport biometric system traps 232 in nine months

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 20: General Department for Airport Security arrested a total of 232 individuals in the last nine months from January to September 2015, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

The officers arrested 56 individuals after the latter were detected through the fingerprint system, cancelled their residence permits and referred them to the concerned authorities.

They also arrested 31 individuals who were referred to the department in charge of enforcing entry and exit procedures, 109 individuals with security restrictions imposed on them who were referred to the General Department for Residency Investigation and 36 individuals who were involved in forgery cases.

The department stressed its keenness to apply the law strictly on all citizens and expatriates using its database and the integrated security systems which reveal all violations.
