KUWAIT CITY, May 20: Assistant Undersecretary for Dentistry Services at the Ministry of Health Dr. Ahmed Assad said a number of projects will be launched in the near future, repors by Al-Rai daily. In an interview with the daily, Assad stated that approximately 85 percent of the dentists working in public sector hospitals and clinics are nationals. He confirmed this percentage is increasing, as 77 dentists have been sent abroad on scholarship to pursue higher studies in prestigious universities in America, United Kingdom, Canada, Ireland Hong Kong and other countries.

He also revealed that a new hospital was opened in Jahra to cater to dental patients suffering from chronic diseases, in addition to a dental clinic for children that operates 24/7. He stressed that the ministry is committed to protecting the health of students. “As October 2023, dental services for students have become 100 percent subsidized by the ministry. A clinic has been established in Fahaheel Medical Center to provide dental services to bedridden patients, while a dental service has been introduced in Sabah Al-Ahmad Residential City. He went on to say that in order to meet the demands of the citizens, the working hours of Al Qasr Dental Clinic in Jahra have been extended to operate 24/7.
