KUWAIT CITY, Aug 3: According to the Eldorado Weather website, the temperature in 13 Arab cities reached almost 50 degrees Celsius on Monday, including eight cities in Kuwait. These are among the 15 highest cities in the world, with Iraq coming in second place with four cities, followed by Saudi Arabia, Iran and Brazil each with one city, reports Al-Nahar daily.
The 15 hottest cities, ranked by “Sputnik Arabi”, as of 3:00 am (GMT time) on Monday morning are:-
1. Jahra (Kuwait) – 49.9 degrees,
2. King Fahd Airport in Dammam (Saudi Arabia) – 49.8 degrees,
3. Sulaibiya (Kuwait) – 49.8 degrees,
4. Colinas de Tocantins (Brazil) – 49.7 degrees,
5. Basra (Iraq) – 49 degrees,
6. Mutriba oil field (Kuwait) – 48.9 degrees,
7. Abdali (Kuwait) – 48.6 degrees,
8. Kuwait International Airport (Kuwait) – 48.6 degrees,
9. Wafra (Kuwait) – 48.5 degrees,
10. Basra International Airport (Iraq) – 48.5 degrees,
11. Khanaqin (Iraq) – 48.5 degrees,
12. Abadan (Iran) – 48.4 degrees,
13. Al-Nuwaiseeb (Kuwait) – 48.4 degrees,
