704 apply for imam and muezzin posts

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 22: The Technical Affairs Department of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs announced preparations have been made to organize written tests for Kuwaiti imams and muezzins to fill two vacant positions, reports Al-Rai daily. The daily added, the tests will be held on Monday, Aug 24, at 5:00 pm at the Grand Mosque.

It has been stated a total number of applicants for the two positions is 704 citizens. Three hundred and seven have applied for the position of imam and 397 for the post of muezzin. Twenty-three Kuwaitis, who have applied for imam hold higher degrees, specialized in legal affairs (PhD).

Meanwhile , the Ministry of Electricity and Water announced that it has started receiving requests to deliver power supply to 203 housing units in blocks 5, 6 and 7 in the West Abdullah Al-Mubarak, reports Al-Rai daily. This falls within the fourth part of the first phase. Informed sources in the ministry said, “With the delivery of the current to these aforementioned plots, the ministry will have completed supply power to 3,100 units in the city, which is done in cooperation with the Public Authority for Housing Welfare
