620 new coronavirus infections in Kuwait

KUWAIT, Aug 6: The Ministry of Health announced 620 new infections of the coronavirus (COVID-19), raising the total to 70,045 in past 24 hrs. Deaths reached 469 with the addition of 1 fatality.

Official spokesperson of the Ministry of Health Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad said in a press conference that the 620 infections included 423 Kuwaitis and 197 non-Kuwaitis.

Infection as per health regions, 220 in Ahmadi Health District, 139 inJahra Health District, 100 in Farwaniya Health District, 82 in Hawalli Health District, and 79 in Al-Capital Health District.

The health official said that there are 127 patients receiving treatment at intensive care wards, Dr. Al-Sanad revealed.

The health authorities conducted 3,599 swab tests in the past 24 hours, raising the whole count to 522,200, Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad added.

Earlier, the Health Ministry announced recovery of 704 people from the coronavirus (COVID-19), bringing the tally to 61,610.
