KUWAIT CITY, Jan 27: Customs officers at the Nuwaiseeb border post recently thwarted two separate attempts by male travelers to smuggle 286 cartons of cigarettes to the neighboring country, reports Al- Anba daily. From one of the vehicles the inspectors seized 233 cartons which were hidden in a secret compartment and 53 from the other. The contraband and the smugglers have been referred to authorities and their vehicles have been temporarily impounded.
