Made in China replaced with “Made in Germany” – “Made in Italy” stickers

KUWAIT CITY, Apr 4: The Ministry of Trade and Industry raided a store in Hawalli as they were caught changing the country of origin on number of pumps. The investigation team was led by the Undersecretary of the Supervisory and Consumer Protection Department, Eid Al-Rashidi.

The Ministry stated that information was received a tip by the Hawalli Governorate team of the Commercial Control and Consumer Protection department that a warehouse in Hawalli was behind this manipulation.

It was found that Chinese water pumps were sold in the country by changing the origin of production. The inspection lasted for several hours .

Sources said that around 2000 water pumps and stickers labeled “Made in Germany” – “Made in Italy” were confiscated. The store authorities and workers have been refereed to competent authorities to take the necessary and the store has been shut.
