Sheikha Intisar Al-Sabah told the daily that “at Al-Nowair Foundation we have been promoting the importance of mental wellbeing since 2013 by providing Kuwaiti society with positive tools to empower them and build their resilience.”

She continued saying, “We are firm believers in social behavioral change that always begins with the realization that each of us can adapt to positive habits that, in the long run, enhance our mental well-being as individuals and our development as a nation. She stated that the decision makers from the government and the private sector must work to change society in a way that enhances mental health.

Al-Sabah added that the results of the study show that adolescents and young adults feel more unhappiness due to dissatisfaction, while adults are more optimistic. It showed that those who feel miserable complained of the lack of anyone to listen to them, or they had no one to support them or give them hope, and that their demands focused on improving the standard of life in all aspects.

Al-Sabah called for the need to develop community plans for mental health. The study identified the most prominent factors and reasons that reduce the feeling of happiness among the Kuwaiti population, including stress that dominates life, the feeling of dissatisfaction, and the absence of psychological rehabilitation.
