1,500 officers, lower rank staff leave MoI for various reasons

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 20: As the country is witnessing strange developments on the crime front, a recent statistics issued by the Ministry of Interior revealed an increasing number of employees has been leaving the ministry either through resignations, retirement or other reasons, reports Al-Qabas daily.

The statistics showed 1,500 officers and lower rank employees have left the service during the last year including 345 who have resigned; 445 retired and the number of them discharged from duty or their services have been terminated which is about 700 officers and individuals.

Security sources pointed out that the ministry is currently studying the causes and trying to find out way how to make the work environment of the Ministry of Interior attractive and not repulsive. The sources pointed also to a special project to attract Kuwaiti youth to embrace security work
