12 graders results to be out soon

Several govt institutions move to provide e-services

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 16: The results of the 12th graders will be ready this Friday, and the distribution of their certificates will take place next Sunday, reports Al-Anba daily quoting reliable sources from the educational sector. Meanwhile, they revealed that the school administrations have started issuing results for the 12th grade students in both academic sections – science and arts, indicating that the students can access their grades via the ministry’s portal based on their seat number, as soon as the grades are uploaded.

The sources said the examination control center in the ministry is scheduled to carry out final calculations and verification of the grades attained during the supplementary second semester, which will be released once the approval process is completed by the concerned authorities. They affirmed that the school administrations have exerted tremendous efforts to enter the grades and review them in a record time. The sources indicated the people working in this field have succeeded greatly in implementing the distance education system, which was applied for the first time in the history of education in Kuwait.

They said, “Despite the modest capabilities and strenuous circumstances, the school administrations rose to the occasion, sailing through challenges, and safely docking. The educational bodies relied on themselves and were able to achieve the desired objectives”. The sources stated that the examination control center for science and arts sections is ready to review and verify the grades before the official approval. They added that the acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education Faisal Al-Maqsid and the Assistant Undersecretary for Public Education Affairs Osama Al-Sultan are continuing with their efforts in securing and providing suitable conditions for employees in the examination control center to perform their duties to the fullest.

Meanwhile, a government document revealed that several governmental institutions have started to develop, strengthen and accelerate their digital transformation in a bid to provide services to citizens and residents electronically, reports Al- Anba daily. The daily obtained a copy of the document stating that five governmental institutions provide 221 electronic services to citizens and residents as follows: Ministry of Finance, Central Bank of Kuwait (CBK), Public Institution for Social Security (PIFSS), General Administration of Customs, and the Expropriation Department.

The document affirmed that the aforementioned institutions are keen on developing and introducing new services for citizens and residents in the coming period – 38 new services. Sources explained this trend is in view of the exceptional circumstances that the country is going through due to the negative repercussions of novel coronavirus pandemic and the lockdown in previous months. The document pointed out the current crisis prompted these institutions to facilitate the completion of transactions for citizens and residents by using modern technologies and introducing electronic applications for them to save time and effort, and most importantly, to curb the spread of corona.
