KUWAIT CITY, Nov 7: During an inspection campaign carried out by the Ministry of Commerce and Industries in Dajeej area of Farwaniya governorate a quarrel took place between Egyptian expats and MOCI staff. It all started during an inspection at Dajeej area.  At one of the shops an expat was seen smoking inside the shop, he was asked not to smoke by the MOCI inspector as law prohibits smoking in closed areas, this angered the expat and he started insulting and assaulted the MOCI inspector and called 10 Egyptian expats who started kicking and beating the inspectors.

The Inspectors provided the medical report while registering a case against expats. They were arrested and were referred to a deportation center to be deported to their country due to obstructing the work of inspectors, non compliance with the law of the country, assault and disrespecting the government agency employees.

The Minister of Commerce and Industry and Minister of State for Communications and Information Technology Mazen Al Nahedh denounced the attack on MOCI inspectors while performing their duties at Al Dajeej Area in Farwaniya governorate. Al Nahedh told KUNA that he will not allow insulting of ministry employees and will provide necessary support and preserve their full rights. He further stated that the ministry will take legal measures against those who try to deceive consumers.
