KUWAIT CITY, Jan 4: Young artiste Osama Al-Muhanna attributed his absence from the festivals and artistic concerts held in Kuwait to the presence of ‘cliquishness’ (favoritism and wasta) in the artistic community, “as well as the opportunities provided by the competent authorities, for certain artistes at the expense of other artistes”, and described himself as ‘a nice artiste but caught in the web of an ugly time’, reports Al-Rai daily. Al-Muhanna told the daily that he is preparing to launch ‘Singal’ songs in the New Year, which includes different styles of singing, in addition to ‘duet’ songs, stressing that the high cost of artistic production is what most worry young artistes today especially in light of the government’s lack of talent.

Al-Muhanna also touched on the possibility of entering the field of representation in the event that he finds a distinguished role that serves him as a singer.
