US Army soldier in Kuwait shows signs of coronavirus infection

KUWAIT CITY, March 9: A US Army soldier deployed in Kuwait is placed under observation after the man showed signs of being infected with the new coronavirus, reports Al-Rai daily quoting Fox News.

The soldier was allegedly on vacation in Italy, where the virus is widespread and has forced the government to quarantine entire towns and districts.

The soldier was tested and placed in isolation as a precautionary measure while officials wait for the results, said Navy Capt. Bill Urban, a US Central Command spokesman. “Those with whom the soldier has had recent contact have also been screened in accordance with the current guidance from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention,” Urban said
