Unexpected weather to hit Kuwait – Salmi desert witnesses snowfall

KUWAIT, April 10: Kuwait is expected to witness showers of rain and rumbles of thunder this evening, said Abdulaziz Al-Qarawi, head of the forecasts section of Kuwait Meteorological Department, on Wednesday. The cloudy weather and depression seen across the western and southern parts of the country earlier today resulted in strong wind with speed of 50 km/h and some showers of rain, he told KUNA. The unstable weather is expected to last until Saturday morning, Al-Qarawi added, calling on the citizens and expatriates to follow up the weather updates on http://www.met.gov.kw.

Meanwhile in Salmi area number of citizens reported to Alrai that cold wave hit resulting in hailstones and snow which lasted around 15 mins making areas around Salmi look white as winter-land.
