Umrah trips by land witness top demand

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 6: According to informed sources, the Umrah (minor pilgrimage) trips by land are witnessing a remarkable increase in demand during the current period in light of the travel packages being offered at competitive prices ranging between KD 95 and KD 150 depending on the housing options, trip duration and timing, reports Al-Anba daily. They explained that Umrah trips by road during the month of September are offered at a duration ranging from 6 to 11 days at prices starting from KD 95.

Travel for people of all ages and women without a mahram is allowed, which stimulates the demand for travel to perform rituals by whole families. The sources went on to explain that the month of October will witness the Prophet’s (PBUH) Birthday holiday, because of which travel agencies will offer six-day trips at prices starting at KD 125, according to the options related to the size and type of accommodation. The cost will gradually increase with the reduction of the number of pilgrims in one room, up to KD 150 per pilgrim in a room.
