KUWAIT CITY, July 13: Two murders shook the country yesterday as one of the Kuwaitis, believed to be in his 50s shot to death his son over family disputes, while an Egyptian stabbed and killed his compatriot, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
According to security sources the Kuwaiti pumped five bullets into his son, who is believed to be in his 30s, with his Kalashnikov rifle inside his home in a suburb of Andalus and then surrendered himself to the authorities.
The security sources said investigations are underway to uncover the circumstances of the case. In the second case, the sources stated a quarrel took place between two Egyptians who were sharing an apartment in Hawalli because of differences between them.
After the neighbors heard the screams, shouts and moaning sounds they rushed to the apartment and saw the men on the ground writhing in pain. One of them had succumbed to the stab wound while the other was in critical condition.
According to security sources, no one knows what exactly happened between the two men but one thing is certain both men had stabbed each other. It is also not known if a third person was involved in the tragic incident.
The one who survived the stab wound has been admitted to the admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) of a hospital and police will interrogate him to know the truth when he is in a position to give a statement. The second patient was admitted to the intensive care unit.
