THE level of discontent over the policies adopted by US President Barack Hussein Obama on relations with the region has intensified. Obama and his administration almost announced total abandonment of absolute support for the policies of elite rulers in the region by adopting different policies. However, in his opinion, these different policies are in harmony with the interests of the United States of America, which ‘our people’ in the region find difficult to comprehend.

Policies are built on interests, not emotions. The US administration has been continuing support for the existence of the so-called, ‘State of Israel’, in the last 68 years. Nevertheless, this did not cause any uproar similar to the uproar caused by the current policies of the US administration on Iran, Syria, Lebanon and Yemen, especially since these policies do not correspond with the opinions of some countries in the region.

Despite the fact that this is the absolute right of the US administration, it is not possible to impose it on others.

Take it easy, Oh Excellencies, you shouldn’t let the usually surging Arab emotions carry you away. Until now, you haven’t gone through the worst. The worst, in one word, is the victory of ‘Donald Trump’ — the racist — in the US presidential election in November 2017. God forbid.

This is the one who will show you, and many others beside you, the stars in the middle of the day. You will know that he is the choice of the Americans in a liberal and free democracy which has no place for heresies and delirium of religious clerics and others. Instead, the interests, or what is perceived as interests, will determine every situation.

Trump has announced and continues to say publicly that if he wins the US presidency, which gives the President almost absolute power — of course under the supervision of the congress and senate, he will oblige the allies of the United States of America in and outside NATO to pay for the defense services rendered by the US or leave them to defend themselves.

Concerning terrorism and DAESH, Trump vowed to chop off the head of the terrorist organization and to take their oil to America. He intend to restore the banned torture method called, ‘water boarding’, for those accused of terrorism.

Trump will not only leave his allies in NATO and elsewhere to their own devices, but he will also declare China as the State which manipulates currency. He will endorse punitive fines and eliminate China’s illegal export subsidies.

He will work towards cancellation of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) with 12 countries, as well as renegotiate with Mexico and Canada concerning free trade agreement with the US.

Trump will vent his anger on his neighbors from Mexico. He will build a huge wall that separates the US and Mexico in order to stop illegal migration of Mexicans into the United States. Over and above that, he will make Mexico pay for the wall at a cost ranging from $11 billion to $12 billion, or else, Mexico will face the “consequences”.

In addition, he will enact a new law to prevent migrants from sending their money to Mexico unless they prove that they have legal residency status in the United States.

This is the tenuous torrent of Trump’s promises to American voters if he gets elected as president. The whining Arabs will wish for the era of the son of the Kenyan Muslim migrant, especially when this arrogant racist takes over the reins of leadership in the United States of America.
