KUWAIT CITY, Dec 3: The Ministry of Health should grant ‘infection’ allowance to all nurses in the public and private sectors, reports Al-Rai daily quoting Head of the Nursing Society Bandar Al-Enezi.

According to Al-Enezi, the ministry is biased in applying the law as the allowance is granted only to nurses in some hospitals; so the society called for enforcement of the law in all private and public medical institutions.

He pointed out that the nurses in various institutions and sectors are exerting tremendous efforts to control seasonal flu; hence, the need to motivate them through financial and immaterial compensations.

He reiterated the call to grant GCC and Bedoun nurses two days off, instead of one day; taking into consideration the fact that they work hard day and night to ensure their patients are comfortable. He also demanded for approval of the request to reshuffle some head nurses and refer for retirement those who reached the legal retirement age in order to pump fresh blood into the nursing sector.
