‘Tour category ‘ for vehicles to obtain a driving license

KUWAIT CITY, March 28: The General Traffic Department (GTD) in the Ministry of Interior has started receiving requests for adding the ‘tour category’ to the vehicle ownership registration book, which is needed to obtain a driving license, reports Al-Rai daily.

This is part of the ministry’s efforts to keep pace with the latest developments and address the needs of those who own vehicles under the new category, so they can drive these vehicles in accordance with the law. Assistant Director of the Traffic Technical Affairs General Department Brigadier General Muhammad Al-Adwani confirmed that the decision to license tour vehicles is aimed at addressing the need of the community for such vehicles.

He said the decision will ease procedures for the owners of these vehicles in rectifying their legal status, such that the license includes tour vehicles – tour ‘wanit’, tour box, tour buses, tour semi-trucks and tour trucks. He urged all those wishing to add the ‘tour category’ to their car ownership registration book to visit the GTD in order to review the instructions and conditions, so they can go to the workshops or places that manufacture these vehicles to add a category or make modifications to the vehicle.
