Those in bid to impede any national work to be considered as ‘betrayers’

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 4: State Minister for Cabinet Affairs and Acting Minister of Electricity and Water Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah openly declared that those who attempt to impede any national work will be considered as betrayers, irrespective of the varied viewpoints concerning the concept of national work, reports Al- Seyassah daily.

He said this in an interview with Kuwait TV in response to a question regarding the attempts of some individuals to hamper the upcoming inaugural ceremony of Jaber Stadium by launching protest calls online particularly through Twitter website as well as raising slogans in support of former MP Musallam Al- Barrak in order to embarrass Kuwait in front of its guests.

Meanwhile, the organizing committee of the inaugural event, which is scheduled to be held on Dec 18, 2015, has been coordinating with some international celebrity footballers who will be participating in the event. In this regard, Ministry of Interior has cancelled all leaves and holidays of its officers in order for them to participate in preparing for the celebration and provide security and traffic support that day.

Meanwhile, Minister of Public Works and State Minister for National Assembly Affairs Dr Ali Al-Omair stressed the need to hasten in executing the developmental and strategic projects particularly of the roads sector which are prioritized in the developmental plan, reports Al- Anba daily.

During his meeting with the top officials, he insisted on the importance of following the conditions and bylaws for presenting and implementing projects in coordination with the surveillance authorities so that they can be completed in line with the allotted schedule. Dr Al-Omair highlighted the current and future projects that the Ministry of Public Works is carrying out such as the Jaber Hospital, Mubarak Port, Jaber Stadium and the new airport terminal building.
