KUWAIT CITY, Sept 5: The gangs of thieves who target unsuspecting victims continue to rob citizens and expatriates and the latest victim was a Kuwaiti who lost 12,000 dinars, reports Al-Anba daily. The victim lives in Qashaniyah and this crime is the second in a week because two days ago the daily had reported another fraud when a Kuwaiti woman lost 2,499 dinars when an unidentified person offered to renew her credit card and the victim gave the caller all information about her bank account.

A security source said this time the 51-year old citizen in a complaint filed with the Qashaniyah Police Station said an unknown person called him from two different numbers and informed him that he was an employee in the bank and said that he will received a ‘code’ on his mobile and that he should provide him that ‘code’. The complainant added after he obliged, he lost the money from his bank account. The security authorities have once again called on all citizens and residents to avoid contact with any people who call them and claim to be employees of local banks.
