The end of the noon work ban

KUWAIT CITY, Sep 1: The Public Authority for Manpower announced the end to  noon work ban in open places that was scheduled during the period from June 1 to August 31 from 11 am to 4 pm.

The spokeswoman for the Public Authority for Manpower and Director of the Public Relations and Information Department at the Public Authority for Manpower, Aseel Al-Mazyad, said that the Authority has organized inspection campaigns to ensure the implementation of Administrative Decision No. 535 of 2015 regarding the prohibition of work  in open places due to harsh climatic conditions.

The inspection campaigns carried out by the noon work team of the National Center for Occupational Health and Safety during the period from 1/6/2020 until 8/31/2020 as follows: 195 sites were booked for violations. 503 workers were caught working in noon hours, 68 complaints were received, 333 sites violated for first time, 422 completed sites inspected, and 6 sites were reinspected.

First time a warning was given to avoid the violation and re-inspect the site was done, and if the violation continued, a fine of 100 dinars and up to 200 dinars per worker present at the site with work ban on that site was placed on the file and referred to the General Administration of Investigations to take the necessary action. This was done in order to preserve the safety of workers during the summer season.
