Tenders authority approves variation

KUWAIT CITY, June 11: As part of plan by the Ministry of Works to rehabilitate main roads and sub-roads affected by the recent rainfall crisis, Central Tenders Authority has approved 8 variation orders for existing maintenance contracts worth KD 14.5 million at a rate of over KD 1.5 million per contract to use the improved asphalt mix instead of the old specification in the contracts, which cover damaged streets in areas where no maintenance contracts were signed and require a long waiting period for new tenders, reports Al-Jarida daily.
