Some teacher-job seekers offered administrative posts

KUWAIT CITY, March 19: Ministry of Education and Higher Education declined to employ some graduates as teachers, and instead offered them administrative jobs, on the pretext that they will lose the chance for employment if the offer is rejected, reports Al-Jarida daily quoting educational sources. The same source added the graduates were not accepted as teachers because their specialty is not required.

However, sources noted the Faculties of Education, Home Economics, Basic Education, and graduates selected for Kindergarten by Civil Service Commission (CSC) were surprised of their rejection by concerned authorities. They reiterated the candidates were forced to take up administrative jobs without teaching benefits to avoid losing the chance of employment.

Meanwhile, Ministry of Education organized the closing ceremony of the First Individual Games Championship which it organized in cooperation with the Public Authority for Youth and Sports (PAYS) under the patronage of Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Development and Activities and Director General of Evening School Clubs Faisal Abdullah Al-Maqseed. More than 80 students of different educational levels participated in the championship. A number of officials from the ministry attended the ceremony which was held at the Evening Bowling Club for Boys in Capital Governorate. Winners of the bowling, billiard, table tennis and babyfoot competitions were honored during the ceremony
