MP DR. WALID AL-TABTABAI

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 7: The Court of Appeals decided to release the former MP Walid Al-Tabtabaei in the case filed against him for tricking his exwife into having sex with him. However, he will continue to be detained for the verdict of the Court of Cassation in the case related to storming of the Parliament building.

The Court of Appeals had accepted the appeal filed against the ruling that sentenced Al-Tabtabaei to seven-year imprisonment in the lawsuit filed by his ex-wife. The court fixed the session of March 4 for the hearing. The court, few months ago, sentenced Al-Tabtabaei to imprisonment over charges of tricking his ex-wife into having sex with him while they were on an overseas trip for the medical treatment of their daughter.

Meanwhile, the Criminal Court sentenced the writer Fuad Al-Hashem to seven-year imprisonment over allegations of offending Qatar. It is worth mentioning that a number of sentences were issued against Al-Hashem for the same charges but he is currently outside Kuwait.
