KUWAIT CITY, May 24: A Syrian retired Navy colonel, identified only as A.H., has been arrested for obtaining the Kuwaiti citizenship through forgery, reports Al-Rai daily. The man was arrested after the Citizenship Department received a tip-off that the Syrian had obtained the citizenship by forging documents and enjoyed all privileges given to Kuwaitis until he reached the rank of colonel in the Kuwait Navy and retired in 2007. Acting on this information police raided his home and caught him. During interrogation he admitted to the charge and said a Kuwaiti identified only as H, added him to his nationality file. When police checked the man’s file, they discovered the Kuwaiti had added 13 people to his nationality file, eight of them women. Among the men five held the post of officers in the Interior Ministry. The case has been referred to the Council of Ministers. The daily added, the other 12 forgers will be summoned for interrogation.KD 6,000 withdrawn: A Pakistani has filed a complaint with the Shuwaikh Industrial Area Police Station accusing an Egyptian of withdrawing KD 6,000 from his account without his knowledge, reports Al-Rai daily. Without going into details, the daily said a case of theft has been filed against the Egyptian. In the meantime police are investigating.Detention ordered: The Farwaniya Public Prosecutor Abdulaziz Al-Namash has ordered the detention of a Kuwaiti for attempting to kill two policemen, reports Al-Shahed daily.
