Store selling ready-made garments set on fire and KD 14,000 stolen from safe

KUWAIT CITY, June 8: Police are looking for an unknown person for setting fire to a popular market in Jahra on the first night of Eid and stealing KD 14,000 from the safe, reports Al-Rai daily.

Initially it was believed that the fire had destroyed the store selling ready-made clothes and other merchandise, but after the fire was put out by firemen from the Jahra fire station, the owner discovered that KD 14,000 which he had kept in the safe was missing.

“The owner of the market, after inspecting the market, found a steel cutter at the scene and discovered that the money was stolen,” said the security source. He also found near the scene of the crime a steel cutter which the suspect allegedly used to cut through the metal to rob the money. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
