Stop impounding cars – MOI

KUWAIT CITY, May 20: Assistant Undersecretary for Operations and Traffic Affairs at the Ministry of Interior Major-General Jamal Al-Sayegh has issued a decision to stop impounding what he called ‘vehicles infringing laws’ and only issue citations until further notice, reports Al-Qabas daily.

Security sources told the daily this is a temporary step aimed at easing the pressure on the traffic jams and organizing the process of citation in future which will be done electronically that will show the location of the vehicle and the type of action taken without the need to go to the police stations or take a release paper from traffic departments. This step falls within the framework of the development of electronic work mechanism, he said.
