KUWAIT CITY, Dec 16: By the end of the day, all players joining the International All-Stars Football Team would have arrived in Kuwait to participate in the inauguration ceremony of Sheikh Jaber International Sports Stadium, where the team will play against Kuwait’s All-Stars Team. So far, several players have arrived in the country, whereas the organizing committee for the event is due to hold a press conference at 12:00 noon today at the Marina Hotel in Salmiya. Several football stars from both teams and their coaches will attend the conference to talk about the long awaited match. As part of the opening ceremony, several players from the International All-Stars Team will visit Abdallah House for Children Care, and details of the visit will be revealed during the press conference.

In the evening, the International All- Stars Team is expected to go on training under the leadership of renowned Italian coach Fabio Capello, who accepted the invitation after his compatriot Carlos Ancelloti apologized for not being able to attend the event. According to the organizing committee, Capello agreed to take over the leadership of the International All-Stars Team. It is worth mentioning that he had earlier coached some of the players in the international team. Meanwhile, member of the organizing committee Khaled Al-Raudan disclosed the number of players who might excuse themselves from participating in the ceremony will not exceed two or three, affirming the committee will provide alternative stars to play.

Al-Raudan added the challenges and difficulties faced by the committee since the announcement of the names of international players, have had no negative impact on the organization of the ceremony due to the persistence in ensuring that the event will be one of a kind and memorable. Meanwhile, Undersecretary of Interior Ministry Lieutenant General Suleiman Fahad Al-Fahad Wednesday morning chaired a meeting of the assistant undersecretaries and directors general in charge of field activities, and security chiefs to guarantee the safety of life and property at the inauguration of Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium, says the Interior Ministry.

Lieutenant General Al-Fahad affirmed the higher authority represented by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khalid Al-Sabah has provided all necessary facilities to ensure a successful inauguration by going through all preparations, plans and security procedures intended for safety and security of the event. He assured complete commitment to all procedures. The meeting deliberated on plans for protecting civilians, while responsibilities and duties were assigned to relevant units for adequate coordination.

He urged the officials to prepare for unforeseen circumstances in the utmost manner with the prevailing situation. He reiterated all security operatives must be on high alert to any possible security breach. He indicated the state security requires absolute cooperation among all security organs, and that all top field officers are bound to manage their areas appropriately because they have prerogatives over their jurisdictions. He required the police force to be more alert and cautious in the course of the event.
