‘Silicone fingerprints’ found, 11 citizens arrested

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 13: In compliance with the instruction of Assistant Undersecretary for Criminal Affairs at the Interior Ministry Major General AbdulHameed Al- Awadhi, a team of police officers arrested 11 citizens who allegedly timed in and out for their colleagues by using artificial fingerprints in the Ministry of Electricity and Water, where about 350 employees are involved in this scam.

According to security sources, the officers received information that several citizens are timing in and out for their colleagues. This led to the formation of a task force to verify the information.

The officers managed to identify 11 citizens in various centers of the ministry in Farwaniya, Hawally and Ahmadi governorates. At the time of their arrest, the citizens were found to be in possession of the artificial fingerprints of their colleagues. All those arrested were referred to the Public Prosecution for further investigation and other legal measures
